Priority Setting with Strength: Leveraging Your Strong Side for SEO Success

Google constantly updates old algorithms, so obsessing over every algorithm detail is not a good idea because our minds can only consume a tiny percent of this information.

It’s our nature, and nothing is wrong with that.

So how can we become successful in SEO without getting bogged down in the details?

Enjoy and Love SEO

As a professional in the SEO industry, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the seemingly endless list of tasks that need to be done. However, it’s important to remember that focusing on your strong side and doing it well is often more effective than trying to do everything and not doing anything exceptionally well – jack of all trades, master of none.

The best thing you can do is to choose a specific direction to learn it and understand the rest and related niches. Ask yourself what you enjoy, whether it be crafting a content strategy, technical optimization, content creation, or link building.

Take some time to reflect on your skills and interests. What comes naturally to you? These are likely areas where you excel and where you should focus your energy. For example, if you’re a natural writer, focus on creating high-quality written content. If you’re a data analyst, focus on analyzing and improving your website’s metrics.

For example, my main specialization is SEO management to handle the process between different specialists: copywriters, designers, SEO strategies, technical folks, and link builders. I’m hiring great specialists for my team and outsourcing many others because the best specialists are busy with their projects or working for big companies.

Collaborating with others can also help you focus on your strong side. For example, if you’re a great writer but struggle with graphic design, consider working with a graphic designer who can help bring your content to life. In addition, you can leverage each other’s strengths to achieve better results by collaborating with others.

I build relationships with many great experts on LinkedIn and my podcast. So many great experts are good at what they do because they love it. If you don’t love what you do, burnout is a very real concern.

Don’t force yourself to do what you hate. Enjoy the process.

Try Everything

If you start from scratch, try all mentioned methods to find something you like and want to do.

Once you’ve identified your strengths, prioritize tasks based on what you excel at and enjoy doing. Next, list the tasks that need to be done and assign each task a priority level based on your strengths and interests. For example, if you enjoy writing, prioritize tasks related to content creation over tasks related to technical SEO.

Delegate effectively

For tasks that you don’t enjoy or that you don’t excel at, consider delegating them to someone else, or even neglecting them altogether if they can be put on the back burner. For example, if you don’t enjoy coding, consider delegating the technical SEO tasks to someone who does to focus on what you do best and will ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
In conclusion, focusing on your strong side in SEO is essential for success. By identifying your strengths, prioritizing tasks, delegating or neglecting the rest, and collaborating with others, you can ensure that you’re spending your time and energy on what you do best, leading to better results and a more enjoyable experience.
