Paid tools review

Here is my list of paid keyword research tools:

  1. Ahrefs

This tool is one of the best because of its UX, variety of unique features, and valuable metrics. For example, you can get data from Google, Amazon, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Daum, Naver, and Seznam. In addition, Content Explorer changes the way of searching for traffic topics with a lack of quality content and low competition.

Pros:

  • A massive list of keywords
  • SEO metrics: KD (Keyword Difficulty), CPC, volume
  • Grouping a list of keywords by parent topics
  • Filtering by terms match, questions, also rank for, also talk about

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • No free trial
  1. Semrush

Semrush is the most popular SEO multi-functional tool. It contains many unique features and metrics to create effective campaigns. However, UX is slightly more confusing compared to Ahrefs.

Pros:

  • All SEO data: keywords, topics, content ideas
  • Filters by country, language, users’ intent
  • Valuable metrics: volume, CPC, KD
  • Getting broad, exact, and phrase match

Cons:

  • Very expensive
  • You have to pay more for additional features
  1. Moz

This tool is on the same level as Ahrefs and Semrush, but is less popular with fewer user subscriptions. Nevertheless, my favorite feature is the “priority” feature because all businesses have limited resources. This feature lets you create a content plan that focuses on the right priorities.

Pros:

  • Priority and relevancy feature
  • Grouping a list of keywords
  • Export CSV

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • No data for regions
  1. Serpstat

Serpstat is an excellent option for someone unwilling to pay $100+ for Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz. The unique feature of this tool is the ability to get Google trends and social media domains in the top 10.

Pros:

  • Less expensive than popular tools
  • SERP features
  • Social media domains on search results
  • An extensive list of suggestions

Cons:

  • UX is confusing
  • No data for regions
  1. Vidiq

This tool is excellent for YouTube, which has 2.6 billion users. Videos appear for 55% of Google keyword searches and 82% of results from YouTube. Ranking on YouTube takes 24 hours if your video retains the audience longer and gets high engagement. Vidiq helps to find a list of keywords with volume and the level of competition.

Pros:

  • Finding a list of keywords
  • Getting related and overall score
  • Showing top-10 trending videos

Cons:

  • No grouping a list of keywords
  • No users’ intent

This tool helps to find a list of video keywords with the level of competition. My favorite feature is the ability to view interest over time.

Pros:

  • A lot of useful metrics: volume, competition, optimization
  • Unique score analysis
  • Interest over time

Cons:

  • No grouping
  • Font is small
  1. Ubersuggest

The main difference from this tool among other paid tools is the low price and the ability to view data about specific regions. If you’re going to promote local content, then this tool will be helpful.

Pros:

  • Low price
  • Local search data
  • User-friendly

Cons:

  • No grouping keywords

Check out these other paid tools with similar keyword research features and less expensive monthly plans:

Other paid tools

  1. SpyFu – $39
  2. Majestic – $49
  3. Keywordtool – $69
  4. Longtailpro – $37
  5. Merchantwords – $35
  6. Kwfinder – $30
  7. Growthbarseo – $29
  8. Seranking – $40
  9. Sitechecker – $41.
  10. Tubebuddy – video data tool.

Conclusion

Ahrefs and Semrush are two of the most popular online tools among SEO pros, but other tools have some advantages and unique features. Take a look at each one, sample the free trials if they’re available, and determine which tools would be worth adding to your SEO toolkit.
