Seth Godin proclaimed that “content marketing is the only marketing left.”
Unsure as to what I mean?
Let’s dive in!
There are more than 1,7 billion websites online that all want to get traffic and sales.
Does the internet need all these websites?
Of course not.
That’s why 91% of all websites have no organic traffic and only 0,3% of all websites have more than 1,001 organic visitors per month.
Digital marketing is extremely competitive.
Many of my customers come over to me from other SEO agencies due to the fact that they have failed miserably in getting traffic - for a few years!
I have identified three mistakes many new websites have in common:
Standard SEO doesn’t work anymore because almost all websites use it.
However, Google only ranks the best websites on their top-10.
That’s why it’s crucial to find another way with individual promotional methods.
Content marketing is marketing that provides value and helps people.
There is no sales function.
Once you have built up a loyal audience and traffic, then you can monetize your content.
Using content marketing doesn’t guarantee results, because there are over 1 billion blogs online.
It’s also important not to compete with famous blogs.
I create a content plan once I have identified a lack of quality online content in y9our niche, coupled with a low level of competition.
The next step is to create much better content than the websites featured on the top-10.
Many website owners hire writers on Upwork or other freelance platforms.
However, freelancers usually write about a broad spectrum of topics.
There is no value in writing such as this, because Google considers the E-A-T parameter (Expertise, Authority, Trustworthiness).
A writer only needs to know one topic very well!
Just imagine the situation - you are going on vacation in a new exotic country.
First you start reading comments and feedback from travellers who have been to this country or hotel before.
Will you read comments or thoughts from people who have never been there?
I don’t think so.
That’s why Tripadvisor, Expedia, Yelp and many other similar websites strongly control reviews on their platforms.
Freelancers who do not know the topic usually get the information from the top-10.
However, people read this daily - they are not interested in reading the same thing again.
Bloggers will never link to plagiarism simply because of the fat that it’s not unique.
